Reis Naar Het Morgen Land (Trip To Tomorrow Land) part 2
Reis Naar Het Morgen Land (Trip To Tomorrow Land) part 2
Last week a spectacular caravan of great looking sculpture objects were hand-pulled through the city of Antwerp.
It was an idea by the group Fase from Ghent and they made this project together with Het Bos. The sculptures were built in the old Scheld’apen location, an ideal location and a great last use of that space. In one of the cars, which looks like a ‘clod of earth’, Radio Centraal the independent radio station of Antwerp, broadcasted their live shows. For 6 days long the caravan travelled from one location to the other and at the new place a base camp was set up, with random activities and the people slept at the site in fold out spaces from the cars.
Funny enough the caravan caused several traffic jams, which i appreciate a lot. Besides that it was a ‘lust for the eye’ and a treat for the hart and head, to know that people have the courage and the vision to start this kind of initiatives.
This selection of pictures is from the lat day at the Middelheim sculpture park

Earth
The people who had a kind of mobile labo with them, with which they developed pictures on prepared tin beer cans (pieces of the size of a negative film), like in the 19th century. This ‘metal pictures’ looked amazing, nice texture and sepia color. Here is some more on those people; www.piconblik.blogspot.com
It was a heavy week
so time to celebrate
