Audio Plant, at the Leftbank of Antwerp
Audio Plant, at the Leftbank of Antwerp
For some time there’s a new venue in Antwerp at the Leftbank, pretty far outside the center. It is a small house runned by Warre, who also organises concerts at the Tenace boat and at the former Barabas, another great place in Antwerp. In this place he organizes under the name Bar A Gauche. He did a great job in the house and garden, it is filled with nice objects, collages and other stuff he made himself. In my former hometown Breda there was a great café: The Zanetti and this place somehow reminds me of this former 2nd living room of me. Warre also organizes a “volkskeuken” on thursday which means nice meals for a very reasonable price. last weeks i attended two concert evenings, first one with 3 acts, second one was a release party by Djuna Mich who publishes the Keen Zine, a magazine with drawings, poems, stories. That party started at 15h and ended deep into the night.
The place is pretty dark, so i’m happy i just bought a second hand full frame digital camera (and a very good lens) which seems much better than my last camera, much more light sensitive.
It’s very nice about Antwerp that this kind of new places pop up, others close down, it keeps the city alive and very interesting!
